Hi!!! I want to buy a tv and I'm kind of tight on a budget, but there are still a lot of to choose from. So which one to buy?

I work in IT and a large proportion of our computer LCD's get thrown out after 3-6 years because their backlights &/or power invertor fails and it costs too much to replace them.
Has anyone had this happen to their LCD TV, how much did it cost to fix? (I'm thinking of buying my first LCD TV).

I want a TV that has a DVD player but I can't buy dishnetwork, directv, or stuff like that. If I buy this TV could I just plug it in, put an antenna on top of it and get channels like channel 4, 8, 11, 13, 21, etc.? Or will it only work if I buy a program?

I've read in some places there is a plus/minus 15 degree swivel on the W Series, other places suggest the stand is fixed. If you know of other Sony 32 inch or larger models where the stand does swivel, I would be interested.

is there a way i can increse its amount of channels its an a Turn dial TV and i,m not very experienced with them. so coud someone help me is there a way i can rig it to do more channels thanks

It's the model Av-27320 and it's connected to Direct tv. Problem started before direct tv connection. Tv has different video modes(3), so I choose the one with the brightess setting.

Using Component cables, I am able to get the package HD channels on Input 1 and Local HD channels on Input 2, but I can't get them to show up on one input together. On Input 2 while Local channels are in HD, the package HD channels won't show up [just see vertical lines];

And while on Input 1, I can get the package HD channels, but the local channels are now fuzzy.

I'm using the RGB compenent cables

I've recently cut off my cable because IT'S TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE!!! I am a TV addict & I really jones for something! Does cable now monopolize free television? It was (off the record) recomended by a cable worker that I disconect the box (have to turn it in anyway) & connect the cable directly to my TV. It worked like magic for a few days but now all I have is loud noise & the basic grey fizz. I don't want to steel from anyone but jeez can I tune in to something?

i have just bought new lcd tv and have connected it all up according to the guys in comet - but - do i really need all the arial leads as well as the scarts?
i have scarts from tv to sat - tv to dvd - and sat to dvd
i have arial for sat in sat box and arial for tv in sat box

then
and these are the ones i am asking about

arial from tv to dvd and arial from dvd to sat
just seems to me to be to many wires

hope someone out there can help with this

I've obviously pressed an incorrect button that has placed a padlock (red in colour) on a totally blue screen. The most likely buttons are "Sleep" "Display" and "CCD" As of now no button works....nothing!!!!! Can anyone tell me what I have done and how to get my TV back? I've looked through the manual but have found no help whatsoever. I'd even appreciate a contact with the company that makes Insignia.

both are samsung but one is 46 inch dlp projection hdtv and the other is 42 inch plasma flat panel 720p hdtv im thinking the plasma makes the 42 inch cost more does it because the 42 inch is 1800 and the 46 inch is 1300 and is 720p as good as 1080p or i is 720p good for ps3 i am dumb so plz explain in a good way
