I'm pretty much a dinosaur in this age of electronics. But the way I see it from a design & practicality point of view NO! Think about it....you don't live in a big warehouse or studio (both lifestyles are so cool...I know a few people who do it). So why would you want to do that to your to environment? The equipment alone is ugly at best. If your place can handle it go nuts!! Back in tha'day we used to think the bigger the speaker the better the sound (whoa...60's acid) but I don't think all that shi* is necesary. Just think about how it will look in your place & if it would really carry the sound in that room & what your neighbors wnat to say.(I've always had trouble with neighbors when I gave great parties! & I lived in a huge neighborhood w/houses very far apart.) Myself, I want little Bose speakers & a screen not pretending to be a movie theatre & speakers who speak to me....a much better solution to the in home boom box. I guess I've blown enough hot air up your a#ss that probably is of no use at all!!!

relies upon on the dimensions of the room and how a ways away you sit down from the television. If that's a tiny room and also you're like 6' from the demonstrate screen, it truly is tremendous. 40-40 2" are for 10-12' away 40 six-50" are 12 to fourteen'

I think it's ok for widescreen TV. There are specials in futureshop this week
for samsung , it costs $2,799 save 500 and Sony Bravia it cost $3499 save $500. Samsung is the best choice

The ideal viewing screen size is the distance of 3 times the screen size....i.e a 20" TV should be viewed from 60" away from the screen...and in your case (50")....should be viewed from a distance of 12' 6"........

multiply size of tv by 5 or 30 (cant remember ) your salesman or shop should beable to help with this.

go to a specialized store for this level of help and money dont just go to an electronics store they will sel you something you dont need.

a specific store can give you something you will both use and enjoy
