i have just bought new lcd tv and have connected it all up according to the guys in comet - but - do i really need all the arial leads as well as the scarts?
i have scarts from tv to sat - tv to dvd - and sat to dvd
i have arial for sat in sat box and arial for tv in sat box
then
and these are the ones i am asking about
arial from tv to dvd and arial from dvd to sat
just seems to me to be to many wires
hope someone out there can help with this

If your aerial is connected to your sat box that is enough, unless you want to be able to bypass your sat box at some point and watch tv directly from your aerial; signal.

It's up to you whether you want it or not. If you regularly record one channel while watching another, it would be a good idea to keep it. However, if you don't, you might was well get rid of the extra cable.
The way I have it set up at home, I have the main TV downstairs hooked up to the Sky Digital and the DVD recorder with no aerial, and the small TV upstairs connected to the aerial and the portable DVR.

i followed the advice from the shop to and was drowning in wires...no you do not need them all...as i found out...use common sense...you need a power supply..an outside connection of some kind (depending on your service..cable, etc) and you need to connect your video player and DVD player to the set via scart lead...good luck...x

The reason you may want to connect all cables would be to be able to watch the terrestrial Ariel while recording something different on sky.
