When it comes to Televisions, the 2 best & most reliable brands are usually SONY + TOSHIBA.

As for if they're any good, the best way to find out is take a trip to your nearest electrical goods retailer, and see for yourself in their showroom and make you're own opinion........ but they are slightly better than their LCD rivals in that you don't need to use a spirit level + a theodolite to ensure you're sitting exactly level with the screen in order to see a quality picture (LCD's look a bit funny when you look at them from an angle).

Sony and Toshiba are NOT the best! They are merely the most expensive! I prefer Samsung. You should also avoid plasma. LCD is superior in life and versatility and has been around longer AND IS MUCH CHEAPER!! Check out Amazon.com and look at the different LCD HDTV reviews or go to Circuit City/Best Buy and look for yourself.
