Panasonic, Pioneer and Hitachi are the top three Plasma manufactured.

first off, Sony has discontinued their Plasma line about 3 years ago.

Fujitsu Plasmas are nuts. They use ACE III which delivers amazingly true color, and has the fastest image processing on the market. But they do come with a hefty price tag.

Hitachi Director's Series Plasmas are built in the same Khameyama factory along with Fujitsu. A lot of the same quality goes into these, sans the ACE III (they use ACE I) which still delivers great color, and they're more affordable. Plus they have a neat little power swivel stand where you could actually swivel the tv left and right via your remote.

If You'd like you to go in the middle, Pioneer Elite has an amazing deep cell structure that creates so many different colors, that you can tweak each and every color to your specific standards and adjust the TV literally Perfectly to your room. Its phenomenal what this TV can do. plus the 27 year expected life span tells you how serious pioneer is about the plasma technology.

I'd say stay away from Panasonic. They generate so much exaggerated color, that it sometimes looks like an oil painting. The colors mash together and makes faces look fake.

I hope this helps!

Thats a pretty wide open question. Its like asking what is better Ford or Chevy.
I have a Dell plasma that I am happy with.
I think as long as you dont buy one of those bottom brand names from Wal-Mart, you will be ok. Ask the people at Best Buy and Circuit City, but dont let them talk you into a million dollar tv.
Your average 42 in sells for $1500

Plasmas are on the way out. Dont spend your money on them. Go for the next.

If you mean HD TV, I definitely would not go with Plasma. I've witnessed a true story describing that a person who bought a huge plasma screen TV broke down in the first two years they bought it. Go with LCD.

welllllllll, there is no correct answer

depends what features you find most important , and how much you want to spend.

Pioneer elite is a great set, as is the sony........we have a toshiba and love it.

some sets have more features( picture in picture- s video in, ETC ETC ETC ) , some have better resolution, some have better speakers ( if you are not using it with surround sound- this can be inportant )
some look better to hang on your wall, and some are really easy to operate.

Agree....LCD is alot cheaper to fix if it breaks down......about $100 for the bulb, vs. $1500 for the plasma screen. Mitsubishi is the father of LCD T.V's. They also have 6 color spectrums vs 3 of pretty much the rest.
