Do you think this will make a big difference in how the picture will look???

Hitachi says....By doubling the frequency from 60 to 120 Hz and inserting a black frame between image frames, Hitachi has significantly improved the ability of the LCD flat panel television to reproduce sharp, realistic rapid motion.

They have this on their new TV's??? I dont know how the HZ effect picture resolution....Do you????

The 60 and 120 Hz are the horizontal refresh rates, thus the 120 Hz refreshes the picture twice as much in the same amount of time...for each time the 60 Hz does one 'paint' of the screen, the 120 Hz does two.

i would say yes. but it also depends on what your watching. if your watching a regular movie then 120 hz makes the motion look fake, and unnatural(although some people tend to like it better) but if your watching something like sports or a nature show(like something on discovery) then 120 hz makes it look ALOT better, the motions are alot less blurred and makes it seem like your actually there. so overall i would say its very worth the price difference!

This applies only to LCDs where response time is an issue.
On side by side comparisons you see a much cleaner picture; however you see the difference only on
-- pictures with LOTS of details (leaves, grass, hair, etc.)
- Fast motion or camera panning
Because it reduces motion blur, sometimes it looks unrealistic
