You're always going to be outdone by "The Jones' ". There will always be bigger and better products just out of reach. Of course after time they will be more affordable, but when they are within reach..... THE NEW MODEL COMES OUT!!!

So, buy the tv you want a few months after it comes out and you'll be fine. The tv's available right now are great. You won't be sorry.

No - just buy that one too and you will only have spent the original $1400. What a deal ????? Being facetious here as that is "the American Way" after all - that and "charge it". A TV is worth 200 to 400 dollars and that is when I plan to buy one. I never ever need to be "first". Go to the place where they sell the ones from tractor trailer wrecks. They are hooked up so you can see them working and they have the same warranty as the full priced ones for 1/2 to even 1/3 of the price in discount stores. So a 1400 dollar TV is already 700 today. So what if you got it at scratch and dent sale. That is soooooooo much smarter than full price that is overinflated so much as TV's are worth 200 to 400 and never any more. Because Americans have to be first, they can set price anywhere and stupid people pay it.

If you have been around for 20 years or more, you should be able see that we have a very competitive and robust environment for technology. The price of things comes down as more and more people buy them. That creates a huge incentive to keep coming out with new and better things.

TVs have really dropped in price as they have gotten better. The current battle over flat panel choices (projection, plazma, LCD) has really spurred a lot of competition.

I believe that prices will drop some more, but we are certainly not going to see the 50% reduction that we have seen in the last 15 months. If you need a TV and want Hi0Def, why deprive yourself waiting for the absolute bottom. By that time, you may want something else. Get one now. The prices are awesome!

It's called supply and demand. Anytime a product is in demand and the supply scarce then the price will be high. Once that product has lost some of its demand then the supply may increase and the price will decrease. In short if you wait the price for the Hi-Def will certainly drop. It's the way of the economic world. You should get used to it because this is how it works.
