I guess i was wondering if my regular phone plan covers my computer phone calls too? i have AT&T ,regular, and AT&T long distance.my current all in one scanner , copier , and fax.has its own program.and i have a internet provider too.but, when i make a call on my computer.does my local carrier and long distance cover that,or do i need another provider for this.i hope i made this clear.cause we are confused.seems to me if i have long distance and local calling it don't matter if i call from my phone,or computer. am i wrong?

I have a land line and trying to call brazil, sometimes it can take hours to get through. What happens is i call and it sounds like its ringing to me, but the phone at the house is not ringing. Its like it is ringing at the exchange, but the connection doesnt go completely though to the house from the exchange.
And i know that someone is home because i am talking to them on yahoo IM and telling them i just called, and they say the phone didnt ring. Yes they have broadband. I have even tried calling them on skype using skype out, and same problem happens.
Is this because brazil has poor phone lines. Because i can call usa, italy and uk with no problems.

I received a call from the vonage representative and was told that I could lower my phone bill a lot by getting their services. Well, what actually happened was that I lost contact with the outside world via home phone and internet services for about three weeks. When it was determined that I would not be able to connect with their company they told me to just disconnect all of the wiring they
had sent me which did not work. Not once did they offer to send someone out to help me. They just left me hanging with no home phone service or internet service. And for that I think that their services stink. Anyone reading this, take this as a hint and don't patronize their services ever or you might just get what I got when I agreed to their services which was a big fat zero!...............

I have an 80 acre ranch that I just bought. The only phone that has ever been here is at an old homestead about 1500 feet from my house. I have had the phone company here and cannot have another phone run until the weather clears and the big trucks can get in. I tried to get them to hook up something temporary, against regulations. They said we could do it ourselves, but were no help with details. Will I lose clarity if I run a regular phone line? What are other options? any help would be greatly appreciated.

This guy called me this morning on my cell phone saying really nasty, sexual things to me - and he knew my name. It was from a local phone number (land line) in my area and I am kind of freaking out about it now wondering if I know this person or not. I tried to look up the # through reverse look-up on anywho.com but no results were returned. When my husband called the number (he was smart enough to mark his call private) what sounded like a fax machine picked up the line. Are there any other good resources for finding info on the owner of the phone number?

All you "high tech" people out there - can you help me? I received a phone call (my home phone - land line) from someone claiming to be a former classmate from 50 yrs ago. I didn't know her. She talked on & on & I couldn't get rid of her. My friend said I should have hung up on her. Said that with all the modern technology out there people can get personal info about you by keeping you on the phone a long time. Could this possibly be true?

My local ISP is starting out at $30.00 per month. As you know Dial up services are often as low as $5.00 per month.I now have to make a decision. At first it seems easy.Go with the $5.00 dial up.But yesterday some chick on yahoo answers said you cant get you tube on dail up unless you wait an hour or 2 for it to load!
Is she exaggerating.
Can you tell me (with out exaggeration) of your stance on this issue. Were you satisfied with your dial up expieriences?
