All you "high tech" people out there - can you help me? I received a phone call (my home phone - land line) from someone claiming to be a former classmate from 50 yrs ago. I didn't know her. She talked on & on & I couldn't get rid of her. My friend said I should have hung up on her. Said that with all the modern technology out there people can get personal info about you by keeping you on the phone a long time. Could this possibly be true?

only way someone can get personal info about you over the phone is if you talk about that personal info over the phone, either with them, or to someone else... they could have an illeagal phone tap on your line somewhere (not likely, but possible) or you could be using a cordless phone (900 mhz) that they can listen in on with a radio scanner... any cordless phone you have should be 2.4 ghz or 5.8 ghz they are more secure. and try to limit the personal info you provide to anyone over the phone.

not that why but they can get some info from you like a date how old you are what year and school you went to and then use that info and you Phone Number and get a ANY info they want on line about you ..like who your parents are , your SSN , your job records . and backgrounds check .you bank info { not the full account Numbers } but how much you have and who you own and what items you are most likely to have like car house what you buy.. so be very very careful and never give to much info out..

and don't fall for the "am looking for so and so i went to this school in this year" and you say no i went here at this time " once you give that info they got you
