I thought it was a one off. I had probs with the reception on sky due to trees. The dish was fitted in winter when there were no leaves on the trees. Anyway after four months, 6 engineers later & a letter to Rupurt Mudoch, whos department sorted the problem out the following day, the dish was finally fitted on the chimmey. Now I have reception. Farther in law was on bt broadband. Switched to sky two months ago. Still can not access his E/Mails. Rang tech support who at first seemed able to deal with the problem. promised to ring back never did. After several more phone calls they have not sorted the problem. Even though BT was dearer my farther in law wishes he had never left BT. The service was alot better. Sky is great if it works first time. IT appears to me if you have any probs or issues Sky does not deliever.

Hi all,
I am looking for a good reliable cordless phone. One that lasts long and has good batteries, but most importantly one that has good reception over long distances. I live in a two-story home and my current phone has too much static, (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5871672)

Basically I need a phone that go long distances away from the base, I also have wifi router so I don't want it to interfere with that.

Thanks for any help or suggestions! :)

so here's the story (i'll try to make it short so i won't lose you..)

i went to a party, met this guy (who claimed to be single) and we made-out and some stuff. but his physco girlfriend found his number in his phone, and now she won't stop calling me! the first couple calls i would answer, and we talked it over. i told her the truth on what happened and how he lied to me, and how he cheated on her.. but now she calls from restricted numbers, and won't freaking stop!
she called like for 30minutes straight last night, and then i had it and turned off my phone. i called the alltel company and they say they can't block the calls..
but she even tried to hack into my voicemail (i have this spiffy voicemail message that told me there were 3 failed attempts to access my voicemail at ... by an unrecognized phone number.) this pisses me off!

should i get the law involved? what do i do???!!

what does it mean when you call a number and it says this number has been temporarily disconnected? and i would call daily to see when i would be able to reach the person and it would say the same thing for a while and now it says the number you dialed is not in service and has been disconnected. Does this mean the person was late on paying their bill so it was disconnected?

BT have agreed a small amount in compensation byt cannot help me with compensation for loss of my BT Broadband. They say that I am registered with BT Yahoo Broadband and not BT Broadband and therefore they, BT, cannot help me. So who do I contact then to take the matter further? Anyone in the know here would be greatly appreciated ...............

I`m looking for the best ways of calling mobile phones abroad i say efficient as in preferably costing as little as possible. The thing is I have tried some of those access numbers and when i call my number i either have trouble getting through or theres bad reception and/or i get dissconnected where when i phone straight i get through and the line is very clear. I dont think phone cards include mobiles but i may be wrong. I am looking for ways/suggestions like a card or way i can call a mobile abroad that lowers my costs where i can still get through easy enough/get a reasonably good reception. I am calling from a BT landline.

My BT landline will accept incoming calls, but when I pick up receiver to make an outgoing call, there is a continuous high-pitched tone and I cannot dial numbers.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

If someone calls my phone and I have Call Intercept, it prompts the call to state their name or company, then they hear a message "Still Trying" while the phone rings in my house and waits for me to pick up an either accept or reject the call.

If I am out and don't answer the call, or if I decide to reject that incoming call, does the caller get charged for their incoming call?

I ask because people call me from overseas and this could get to be expensive for them.

I use www.PhoneHog.com. I feel like I am beating the phone companies! It's a website that lets you earn free long distance minutes and then you can use it like a calling card.

Last night, someone kept calling my house the whole night, starting from 11:00p.m. to 6:00 a.m. this morning it finally stopped. But the scary thing is, that they aren't all from the same caller. 2 were the same that, it was private but had a phone number. another 2 were the same, it was private but had a phone number. And 3 were out of area. I'm scared. Is it a gang that is targeting me. When i picked up the phone, for all of them, no one spoke, when i said hi, after 1 sec, they just hang up. Like you can literally hear them slam the phone down. That's what happened to all those callers. So that makes me think they are doing this together, as a group. They just kept hanging up after like 3 secs. Should i call my phone service and ask them to trace these calls? Should i call the police? What should i do? I'm scared to even sleep or go outside now.
Thanks for replies.

After someone calls and doesnt leave a message its like the message machine hangs onto the line and records one of those automated responses from the telephone company.....like remember you must dial area code first before dialing the number
