I have a Panasonic KX-T2840 phone a friend gave me, but it had no accessories (like a power cord) or owner's manual with it. It's of little use unless I can figure out hoe to work the call answering feature. i went to th Panasonic web site, but there was no information on that particular model. Anyone know of a website that displays manulas for older appliances?

I received an obscene phone call yesterday. They used IP Relay. But I am pretty sure I know who did it. Who do I call to report this and what are the charges for doing this. I really want this person to spend some time in jail.

I keep missing phone calls. I want to get booted when I get a call. But I don't want to have to pay for this service. I have AOL as my dial up provider(i know, its no good, you don't need to tell me). I do have call waiting. I don't want to have to pay for it though. Does anyone know of a free program to do this?

Two part question please answer thank you.

Part One.
I get these international calls that are showing up on my caller id as Private Numbers instead of unknown numbers. Why is that? Are they from cheap virtual numbers, vonage, phone cards or somethang?

Part Two.
What is the difference between "Private Number" and "Unknown Number" on caller ID??? which one can you block with *77 turned ON ??

Thank you sirs!

There's a certain number which has been prank calling us for a while now. Is there a way to block this number? Is it something you need to pay for?

Thanks:)

For the past few nights my folks have been getting prank calls late at night on the house phone. They’ve come out of the blue, and we never give our home number out to anyone. The first call was nasty, my mom answered it, they (sounded like someone with a Kosovo accent), said they were going to kill her and then hung up. The next few nights we ignored the phone, but after dialing callback, we knew it was their number. So I actually have their number now..any ideas? The police aren’t interested, but it’s stressing my mom out..we don’t want to change our number unless we have to.

Thanks guys..some people eh?

Carl

Hi. I know in the past I have entered a special code (*# 124etc.) on a phone or Fax keypad and its allowed the machine to go into 'normally hidden' service settings and set up certain things on the device and was wondering if anyone knows if or what a code I could try for this Panasonic Panafax UF-S1 Fax Machine I have here or maybe someone has a schematic service manual for the UF-S1 and it has it listed in there? Many thanks, Andy.

in the past several months we have had several phone technicians come to evaluate and repair our phone and internet modems because we were having trouble. after the second time, we no longer had trouble, but the cable/phone/internet company was supposedly having inexperienced techs installing the wires incorrectly and had subcontractor techs going around correcting the errors. i'm leary of why they would come to fix something that i wasn't having trouble with. i got suspicious when three of the techs said that the other had the lines connected wrong. i'm wondering if our phones could be tapped because my boyfriends ex is a very messy person and she would do anything to f--- up his life. i wouldn't put it past her to hire someone to do it.

yesterday i had no dialtones, and then all of a sudden after calling from my cell phone and reporting it and told i would be charged if anyone came out to fix it, they started working again (like 30 min. later). so i called back to cancel it, and they tried to sell me something.
