I`m looking for the best ways of calling mobile phones abroad i say efficient as in preferably costing as little as possible. The thing is I have tried some of those access numbers and when i call my number i either have trouble getting through or theres bad reception and/or i get dissconnected where when i phone straight i get through and the line is very clear. I dont think phone cards include mobiles but i may be wrong. I am looking for ways/suggestions like a card or way i can call a mobile abroad that lowers my costs where i can still get through easy enough/get a reasonably good reception. I am calling from a BT landline.

Go to an internet café, they usually have cheap tariffs for calling abroad. some of them are even open for a few hours on Christmas day.

If not, there is a mobile phone card available now which is especially for international cards, or you could contact BT and see if they have a special program for it that you can take on top of your normal line cost - my mum did that to call me while I was living in Ireland, she paid a bit extra each month, but she didn't have to pay as much per minute as she would have without it.

Hope that helps.

Wilfred, I think the problem is the numbers called are FOREIGN, as in NON-UK. So roaming doesn't count.

The biggest cost is the cell connection in the foreign country.

I live in Nicaragua, you call me and Enitel will pass a connection charge through to BT and to you. There is no way to call my Nicaraguan cell phone without paying that charge. No way at all. In comparison, the connection from BT to Nicaragua was almost nothing.
