411.com has phone listings for the USA and Canada. There are also country-specific listings, such as canada411.ca and 411.ca. A Google search for "telephone listing" and the name of your country will give you links to several telephone search listings. If you don't find your friend with the first one, try others. Sometimes one company will list someone when others do not.

only if the phone is in their name, if they live with someone else you won't be able to find them though, also you can call 411 and ask for the number
