Not trying to be funny here but what did the person that gave them to you say?
Did they give you the vibe that they were worth anything?
Maybe you should KEEP half and sell the others.
The person might have an idea that they will be worth more later.
(I would think that a few dutche marks might have some value in 20 years)

If they're interesting enough you can sell them on ebay.
Some phone cards can be quite collectible.
If you go to www.ebay.co.uk you should be able to link to their German site and have a look to see if any similar ones are being sold on there.

there´s endless possibility's whit 500 telephone cards Wye don't you try throwing them away according to me its garbage

If there is any minutes left on them, and you know people in the army, navy over sea's give these to them so they can call people back home for free. Or give them to their family here so they can call over sea's for free. maybe it would be tax deductable.

thrown them away unless you can buy more minutes to put on there- or sell them on ebay not sure if you'll getting any money selling plastic
