Yes they are and they have been there for decades but eventually they will become useless and everything will go sattelite!

Yes, of course there are telephone "lines" running through oceans. From the U.S. there are Transatlantic and Transpacific cables as early as the 1800's. A quick search will show that there are transoceanic cables running through most, if not all of the oceans/seas on the planet.

Yes, and there has been some form of cables under the oceans since the 1800's when a telegraph line was laid between North America and Europe.

what type of question is that? of course there are!!! they connect directly from your phone to the phone of someone in japan...why do you think people worry so much about hurricanes??? since they turn in circles they tangle those lines up so then they send little midgets to untangle them which costs the government millions every year, its terrible i tell you. that is why there are cellphones, there your voice travels through the air, but then the same problem happens with tornados, your voices gets caught in teh wind of the tornado so then the person on the other line cannot hear you. that is why we need you to go to college, so you can solve this problem!!!

yes transcontinental lines are under the ocean recently Singapore had their line cut was out of service for over a week
