I want one that takes really sharp pictures, has an optical zoom, not digital zoom, and has at least 3 mega pixels and is under 300 bucks. The digital camera I have now is really bad, it's a Polaroid I-Zone, and the pictures are horrible. I can't take pictures of myself with the flash on, because my face gets washed out even if I hold it far away from my face, and if I try to take a picture without the flash, my face is really red and blotchy. I need a good digital camera that's professional photographer quality. Thank you.

I don't remember why I did it, but I pointed a remote at a digital camera and the light from the remote was visible. Why does it show up on a digicam? And since infrared will show up on a digital camera, does that mean that if I had a strong enough infrared source I could shoot in complete darkness with a regular digicam and no flash?

I've taken many pictures with my digital camera, but can't find a good software to extract them into my computer, then edit , make resizing and view them.

Anyone here know a decent photo software I can download?

I own a 35MM Nikon FE2. Would the mount which I have a Tokina lens attached to it fit a Nikon digital slr? In Nov I especially bought a camera that's not designed to add lenses to it ..Sony Cybershot. I didn't want to buy everything all over again. Lately I'm getting he urge to buy a DSLR.

There's a Samsung Digimax AC503 camera available at the local store. Here are the specs:
-5.0 megapixel digital camera
-5X digital zoom
-2.0" TFT LCD monitor
-VGA 24fps move function (????)
-Special “effect” button
-PictBridge support

It has no optical zoom. Will it make a difference? Also, please explain the feature I've marked with multiple question marks. Is the megapixel enough for casual photography?

I've been doing research on digital cameras. I want to buy a new one. I've had three in the past: a Sony Mavica, a Canon Poweshot 80, and currently I own a Sony Cybershot. I haven't been entirely satisfied with any of them, but that's partly because I'm interested in "serious" photograpy.

In the past I had two 35mm cameras I absolutely love: A Canon AE Program, then later a Nikon N6006. I'm looking for a digital camera that rivals one of those in both quality and functionality. I'm not a professional photographer, but I'm a notch or two above the "point & shoot" variety.

Three of my biggest complaints about the digital cameras I've owned in the past is the fact that focusing is not as acurate as I'd like, the lousy quality in low-light situations, and the slow response time in recording a picture (I've missed a lot of great shots because of that).

Any advice on what brands and models to look at would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm finally crawling into the technological era and am going to buy a digital camera. I'm definitely looking at the low end of the market (£40-70), but what should I be looking for and how much should I be expecting to pay?

From my limited understanding, the main differentiators for a digital camera are the megapixels and the hard drive space. I'm just looking for camera-quality pictures, and ... say, space to store 100 pictures.

Any ideas? Also, if you have any links to reviewing websites or suggested products, that would be great.
