Ok, I'm going to Europe and I want a camera that will take awesome pictures of my trip. Requirements:

-between $200-300

-at least a 3X optical zoon (more is better)

-I'd prefer a really good 5MP camera to a crappy 7or8MP camera. I don't need 11 by 14 of my drunk face at a bar, I only need 5 by 7's for that :)

So what'd you think?

On the back of the lens on the mount itself it has PK stamped in the mount. Is there a web site that shows different mounts. The camera stores around here are digital only and they look at you like your crazy when you ask them what this fits. Sure would like to know so I can either get an adapter or sell it. Thanks.

I'm looking for a digital camera, specifically a Canon with clear sharp images with rich color, good battery life, and a nice sleek look. Oh & under $400, what do you suggest?? Thanks.

My 10 year old- a rather responsible kid- would like a digital camera for her birthday. Anyone have a good suggestion on kind, place to purchase, etc.? I really don't want to spend a large amount on a camera because 1) she is still a child
2) cameras are changing/improving everyday
3) the prices are coming down all the time.

I would like to buy a point n shoot digital camera and i've settled for canon. some of their cameras come with a battery pack, basically a rechargeable battery and also the charger. But, some come with AA batteries.. i'm not sure as to which one is better.. cos i feel that a camera with AA batteries would require too many battery replacements every now and then. So does anyone have a review on this ?

I just have a normal digital camera but i want to make my photos look like it was taken by a camera with a filter lense. I would like it to look warm and just like the photo we see every day on newspaper.
how can I adjust this with photoshop or picasa?

I have a canon dig camera that I always use in auto mode because I cant figure out how to set the manual settings to take any decent shots. Sometimes pics look bad and sometimes they look good in auto mode but I dont know why and would love to figure out where I need to adjust things on my own other than the flash. My instruction manual stinks! Any help is appreciated!

What the feature called that allows the photographer to take multiple pictures? I want a camera that allows me to take one picture right after another without a processing time in between each? Thanks.

Dear Bob,
Thank you for contacting Fujifilm UK.
The multi-exposure mode on the S9500 cannot be operated in auto mode. For example, if you set the camera to P (Programmed) and press Menu/OK, scroll to the second page of options and enable the 'multi-exposure'. If you take a photo you shall receive a multi-exposure dialog, and by pressing the right arrow button, you can take another picture, amassing multi-exposures. Press Menu/OK button to join the exposures.
Sincerely, Fujifilm. Now I don't want to extract any cudos, from his reply. but these are the fact's. This is the reply that I got from the place itself.

Thanks for the answers to my first question

I have narrowed the choice to Canon, Nikon and Sony. My problem is the choice between the lens systems.

I need to cover 18-300mm (28-450 in 35 mm terms) + a 100mm macro lens.
I need shake reduction, which excludes many lenses and all the generics for Canon and Nikon (i.e. Sigma and Tamron).
I want as few lenses as possible (pain to change and carry around + risk of dust)
And I want the best price/quality and the longest warranty. Simple really…

I summarise the various combinations, with the price from Jessops in ₤

- Nikon D80 + 18-200 + 100 macro (1900)
- Nikon D80 + 18-200 + 100 macro + 70-300 (2300)
- Canon 400D + 17-85 + 105 macro (1500)
- Canon 400D + 17-85 + 105 macro + 70-300 (2000)
- Sony Alpha + 18-70 + 75-300 + 100 macro (1280)

Sony looks a winner but I have seen no serious test of their lenses unlike for Nikon and Canon (e.g. www.photozone.de)

This is a big purchase for me. What am I missing?

Many thanks

I am a very amateur "picture taker". I can't use the word "photographer" because that would be well above my abilities. I currently own a very old digital camera. It is slow, no zoom, no focus and doesn't take any other lenses. A photographer friend suggested one of the best entry level cameras for what I want is a Nikon D40. It is a camera under $600 with a good lens and accepts most 35 mm lenses and filters. It also has a good balance of automatic and manual settings.

My problem is I'm just not ready to spend $600 at this time.

I have seen other cameras, such as the Canon 6 MP that is $200 less, but don't have alot of specs on it.

Is it worth $600 for the Nikon, or can I get a better value and features with another digital camera?

I've been a real traditionalist and stuck to my canon 35 mm camera for some time now and I finally realized it's time I gave in to modernizing and bought a digital camera. I've narrowed down my choices between the Canon Digital Rebel XT and the Nikon D40, but I cannot decide which is better. Can anyone help me?

been using a kodak cx6230 and all the upclose shots have been out of focus. is it the camera or operator error?
