Hi,

Most digital cameras support more than one picture quality. A 5 megapixel camera doesnt mean the camera will automatically churn out a 5 megapixel photo each time you click on the shutter-release button. You can select the picture quality setting before you start taking your photos. A 5 megapixel camera only means the best photo quality will be at 5 megapixel.

Note that a high megapixel camera will churn out photos of higher resolution but there is a drawback. The higher the quality of the photos, the more room it takes up in your memory card. So if you take a photo at economy mode, you probably can take 500 photos with a 1 Gb memory card, but if you change the setting to high quality, you can probably take only 100 (for example). And when it comes to storing the photo on the computer or sending it over the email, you take up more space on your harddrive, and you probably have to resize your photo to a lower resolution before you can send your photos over the email.

Regardless, more is usually better in this regard. Invest in a good camera with high resolution and a high capacity memory card and you are ready to take photos up to your heart's content!

Fine is Fine. Unless you have a limited memory card. Put it on fine and you can adjust from there.
