That's continuous shooting. Most digital camera can take next picture under 1second. You just need to found the shooting.
Multiple exposure on the other hand is exposing the same film area twice therefore the picture will overlap each other. Check the link below for more information on multiple exposure

OMG! I luv this feature! I just got a casio exillim and it has this "continuous burst" feature that takes three shots, bambambam! I can finally get a decent picture of my dog!!! $199, worth every penny. Oooh, plus it has anti-shake. The pictures are great!

Hi,
I think you should be referring to the continuous/burst shooting mode where you can take photos continuously as long as the shutter-release button is pressed.
Unlike continuous/burst shooting mode, multiple exposure is for you to record a series of two or more exposures in a *single* photograph.

I think you are referring to the multiple exposure feature, which allows you to rapid fire photos. I use a Canon XTi and it has that feature on it. It is a superb camera, absolutely love it.

it's a multiple exposure feature. my new sony has that feature and i love it. make sure you do your research before you buy, a lot of the new higher tech cams are a pretty penny. my sony was $399.

the shutter speed. The faster the shutter speed, the less time there is between pictures.
