What site did you use? Was the camera okay when you received it?

I'm looking into getting a Digital SLR and I can get a better deal online than in a camera store but I'm a little nervous about buying something so expensive off the Internet without handling it first. I was thinking about going to a camera store, choosing a camera from there, and then purchasing it from an Internet source, such as new from Ebay or butterflyphoto.com.

Any advice or experiene to share? Thanks!

I've used an S2 IS for the past year and just ordered an S3 for my wife. Has anybody used both cameras? What differences (likes/dislikes) will I likely find in the S3?

Out of Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Kodak and Fuji?
I like the Canon ones (having used my Dad's) but they are costlier than the others...
Has anyone used multiple camera brands and can please tell me from personal experience if the other brands are as good as Canon? Or does Canon justify the higher price tag?

the Canon S3-IS:
http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?item=N82E16830120043
...or splurge and get the Canon Rebel XTi 400D:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830120070
I like the former simply because, 1. movie mode, 2. 12x optical zoom, and 3. about half the price of the XTi. The XTi however, is the SLR everyone is craving, but I am reluctant to spend that much on a piece of equipment I know very little about. Advice?

I was loading my 35mm film into a new camera. I have no idea what happened, but somehow the film rewound back into the canister before I got to use it. I have no extra film & really need to get the tail of this one out so I can load it again. I don't have a film puller, either. I can't fish it out by hooking a paper clip onto anything. Any suggestions?

Okay, I just bought this seemingly great Panasonic Lumix camera (the DMC-LZ4) from Costco and I thought I would look it up online to see what kind of reviews it had while I still had the time to take it back.

Well low and behold, I can't find more than a single note on this product. Not even a review. Not even a notation on Pansonic's website in their product line. It seems to fall smack dab into the middle of the LZ3 and LZ5.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Have I got a lemon here or what? I am simply desperate to find a review of this model.

Thanks, Ross

I have an idea of buying a digital camera online. Canon A710 IS costs $260+ in Amazon, $310 in Buys.com, $340 in Circuit City etc.
Why is this huge difference in price?
Does Amazon sells used cameras?
Which online store is reliable?

I bought a Canon Ixus 850 recently n the shop assistant told me that Canon doesn't manufacture camera cases for the Ixus 850 and tried to get me to buy a generic (n quite ugly) case.
Just saw a friend with her canon Ixus 800 and it came with a Canon Ixus case!!!!! Did the shop assistant lie to me? Should I go back to the shop to demand for a case??

Should I save them to a seperate hard drive? I read that if photos are stored on to a CD, DVD, the picture quality will fade over a few years.
