Out of Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Kodak and Fuji?
I like the Canon ones (having used my Dad's) but they are costlier than the others...
Has anyone used multiple camera brands and can please tell me from personal experience if the other brands are as good as Canon? Or does Canon justify the higher price tag?

My suggestion would be Canon and Nikon. Canon's produce vivid photo. Nikon perfect for zooming. But before you buy the digital camera do some comparison. Let say you want to buy a digital camera that can take night scene you must try it at a dim place. Preferably, the digital camera that you will buy have high ISO and manual shutter, aperture, and exposure setting.

According to Consumer Reports there are brands just as good as Canon depending on the category. In the super-zoom category no difference in performance and final result between Canon PowerShot S2 IS, Sony CyberShot DSC-H2 and Figifilm FinePix S5200. So, yes Canon is very good but there are others.

When it comes to High Performance and Great Results , nothing compares to CANON . Its the Best . My second choice would be the Sony CyberShot.

Truthfully I have a kodak right now, but Fuji takes great pictures.

Canon's the best for sure - they're always top-rated in Consumer Reports magazine. I own the Canon PowerShot A540, and I absolutely love it. It's really easy to use, though my boyfriend can use it much better than I can.
