all these are good answers
lithium batteries are also very good....
they last 10 times as long
if you don't want to wait around for the batteries to recharge
or are one a long trip like camping and have no access to an electrical outlet....
also don't use normal alkalines
there bad for your camera.

Regular disposable alkaline and "long life" batteries don't work well in digital cameras, I advise against using them.
Disposable lithium batteries are great if you put the camera aside for weeks at a time between taking pictures since they will take a LOT of pictures and hold their charge in storage.
Rechargeable Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries are the best buy for saving money if you take a lot of pictures, and allow you to take many pictures per charge, but they tend to lose their charge if left unused for several weeks. I've used NiMH batteries for years in my digital cameras, and haven't bought any replacements yet. I have saved a fortune in disposable batteries I've _NOT_ purchased. However, I have to make sure I have a set charged up every week or so even if I don't plan taking pictures for a while. It's kinda like brushing teeth - sometimes it's a nuisance to spend the time doing those chores, but it's good to get in the habit of doing them anyway...

Better upgrade your camera to a Canon or Nikon,
do a search on which cameras have the best battery life.
Then buy that camera and rechargeable batteries.

get rechargeable batteries. My camera is the same with normal ones. I bought some Energizer rechargeable batteries with a charger. wasn't the cheapest, but well worth it. if you get one, make sure they have a sign for cameras on them. the normal rechargeable ones don't last too long

Try Sony rechargeble battery Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal Hydride), I use it for my Sony cybershot and it last for 2-3 session of my 512MB memorycard (including tranferring the picture to pc)
