Software - July 2007

I recently had to re-download Quicktime. Now not only does it not work in Mozzilla I now get a Quicktime icon with a question mark on top of it sometimes when I use explorer. What is going on? More importantly how can I fix this?

I have a software and drivers disc that came with my Compaq laptop. I also have a Compaq desktop, but it did not come with a software and drivers disc. Can I use the disc that came with my laptop to reinstall the software and drivers on my desktop instead? The only difference is that my laptop has a DVD player and my desktop doesn't.

whenever i push or tap the up arrow key on my keyboard twice the start menu comes up. no its not because of the keyboard. this hasnt happened before. i reinstalled windows because of viruses about 3 times not 3 times in a row but maybe after a year or two

Just wondering how I could get a game Called Destruction Derby to work with XP as its only works with Windows 95/98 at the moment.

I added two memory both of 256mb, a total of 512mb. and i am having trouble because my pc only detects one. not both. what can i do so it detects it. I try putting one first and started the pc and it works and so with the other. but not with both of them. inside.

but there is now currently only one istall of xp on my computer. ist getting annoying becuase now each time before it will load windows it asked me which 1 to boot and i have to move the it to the second on if i leave it on the first one it tries to boot what used to be their and then fails.

I have the 30 day trial of windows vista. The time is now up. Is there anyway i can still use it. Right now i just don't have the money to get the key. The only way i can get on the internet is useing Firefox. But i can only use it for the internet. I can't get into my computer. When i start it up i get a black screen. Then i get a box that say you have to buy the key. I hope you understand.

Hi everybody

My question is I have a Sony laptop which run's Windows XP Home Edition and I want to run Windows XP Professional X64. I'm not sure if my laptop is going to run this, and also I don't want to go through all these process and in the end I end up with no operating system. My Sony laptop come with preinstalled software including all the applications and operating system, but I want to format my computer (delete all the software) to build my own application. To many software I have now is out of date or I don't need them but becasue in most of Sony laptop you won't be able to configure the hidden portions of your factory installed application.

Here are my system information:

Model: PCG-K315S
CPU: Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor 532, 3.06 GHz
HDD: 40 GB
RAM: 512 MB
O/S: Windows XP Home Edition

My main question would be, is it possible to run the "X64" version of Windows XP Pro in this laptop?

What is the difference between 32-bit and the 64-bit version DVD for Microsoft Vista Home Premium OEM. I thought all Microsoft Vista OS is 64-bit except for the Home Basic. So why is there a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Home Premium?
