whenever i push or tap the up arrow key on my keyboard twice the start menu comes up. no its not because of the keyboard. this hasnt happened before. i reinstalled windows because of viruses about 3 times not 3 times in a row but maybe after a year or two

that's a short cut
you can modified this short cut to different letters or number


try to click on the windows logo on your keybord and is'ts going to do the same thing.

maybe you have configured your keyboard shortcut settings to such that when arow up key is pressed, start menu comes up.
