Software - January 2007

I am trying to install a Sat Nav programme that requires me to install Microsoft Outloock 2002 and Microsoft Activesync 3.7.1. I have tried to do this and it will not install, every time I try to intall Microsoft installer says there is another installtion running (When there isn't) how can I get into installer to see what is apparently being installed and take it off so I can start again?

Ok I have the program installed called Torpark and I was just wondering if this can hide my IP from comcast, the reason I am asking this is because I download torrents and basically they told me that if I continued doing that they will disconnect my internet service. So basically my question is will Torpark hide my ip from downloading Bitorrents on my pc?

I have created an excel spreadsheet. I created hyper links to document and PDF files within the same file server-just a different folder. I have emailed this to others and have saved it in another folder. No one can use the hyperlinks. Help please?
Does the document need to be anchored somehow?

I was in add/delete programs and there are a few programs that i don't know what they are or what they do. Can anyone tell me what they are and if i need to keep them on my computer?

My Computer is installed with WindowsXP professional, if that makes any difference.

I am about to pull my hair out. I made a 4 slide presentation and then saved it as a jpeg to turn in as part of a school assignment. However, when I open the thing, the first slide is correct, but when I click the forward arrow, my other 3 slides have dissappeared, and instead there is a never ending supply of images; seemingly everthing I've ever looked at on this computer EVER. Even little slices from websites, personal photos that I've looked through, even photos I have never seen that were obviously linked to someone's myspace or something. WHAT in the world is this, how do I make it stop, and how do I just save my 4 slides as one jpeg? Oh yea, I went in and completely emptied my temporary internet file folder, and it is still happening.

I have a AMD 64 Dual Core processor, 2Gb RAM and a good graphics card and mainly use my computer for gaming - both online and not, viewing movies and downloading pictures.

I'm just thinking of upgrading to Vista as I have heard it is the first 64 bit OS so I'm thinking I'll get the best out of my processor?

i need help to convert a QuarkXPress file into .pdf format.

When i use the: FILE > EXPORT > FILE AS PDF i get the following message box:
'To save a layout as a PDF file a postscript printer must be set up to print a file'

Can anyone help with this? I have heard something about 'virtual postscript printers' would this work and how do i do it?

All help would be gratefully recieved!

(alternatively does anyone have the ability to do this that i could mail the files to?)

I played a demo of "Prey" for the PC a few months ago, and it ran fine, I loved the game. I found it in the sale for £8 today and snapped it up. When I got home and tried it out, it didn't work. I'm guessing it's to do with the fact that I have a Radeon 9550 graphics card and the lowest one specified on the box as a supported card is 9600.

Should the game run with a lower spec card? If so, I've got a different problem.

If it is the graphics card issue, is there any way around it?
