Security - October 2007

I dont want other people to have access to them, or get them using a search engine. I just want somewhere that they are safe if my comp gets a virus or I no longer have access to them.
Guess its just a back-up service that I need. Any good ideas?

Ok, whenever I try to run LW/FW I get the "was enabled to initialize and start..." message. Yes, I get the fact this is caused by a Firewall. The windows Firewall isn't on and I don't have the Norton AntiVirus. So, I went under "my computer" and searched "Firewall." I got 10 firewalls on this thing! I don't know what to do now. Should I delete them all? I'm not even sure if I should do that since this is my dads computer...

i keep getting pop ups more and more from this spyware saying i have many trojans,ive checked with my own security and it says i have none. CONFUSED cant get this malware off!!!!

My computer is infected with "Security Toolbar 7.1", and it is showing different symptoms:
1. Computer prompts me that my system is infected with different viruses like trojan-spy.win32@mx; and to download different antispam softwares.
2. I am having full updates of norton antivirus... but it is unable to detect this problem
3. I can not restore my computer in back date also...
4. There is no infrmation about this toolbar even in "add or remove programme" in control panel menu..

for information, i am having original windows XP home edition and a licenced copy of norton antivirus.
i dont want to spent any more to remove this "Security toolbar 7.1"
Can anybody help me by telling the method to remove this spyware from my computer without spending money?

I have also tried with different free antyspam software like spyware doctor, HJTINSTALL.exe...but couldn't find effective solution.
Please specify me any manual removal tool..with effective links...if any.

I TRIED SPYBOT THE FIRST DAY AND HAD TO RUN IT SEVERAL TIMES AND SHUT THE COMPUTER DOWN, BUT IT FINALLY WENT AWAY. SAME THING THE NEXT DAY. TODAY, THE 3RD DAY, I HAVE BEEN TRYING OFF AND ON SINCE NOON AND IT CAN'T GET RID OF IT. IT SHOWS 1 PROBLEM. AND THEN IT TRIES. I CAN'T FIND WHERE IT IS EITHER. FOR AWHILE IT WAS ON INTERNET EXPLORER, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS. NOW IT ISN'T SHOWING UP ANYWHERE. HELP THANK YOU AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Hi, i just downloaded an episode of naruto and later started to get pops including errorsafe, porn and many others. I managed to get rid of these all but i was wondering if the naruto episode gave me those adwares. Also if it did can i put the next episode on a usb and download the player needed for it on the usb then can i open player in the usb and open the file in the usb. THanks

I was wondering which is the best security software around, McAfee, norton? Defender? I find norton to be very annoying, it's so difficult to install, and when you already have installed it gets corrupted and then you have to waste 3 hours installing it again.

It has to have a sophisticated anti-virus and a really good anti spyware, It also has to have a firewall.

I get these emails all the time ..spamguard doesnt catch..that say help me in the name of God and stuff...to get their money outta banks overseas..I know its crap..how can I punish them..or make them stop?I think maybe someone should spam them back.

Hi! just bought this new belkin router, and their website is really not helpful. I called the help hotline and it was a nonexistient number.
