I dont want other people to have access to them, or get them using a search engine. I just want somewhere that they are safe if my comp gets a virus or I no longer have access to them.
Guess its just a back-up service that I need. Any good ideas?

Mediamax has plenty of free storage (25gb)

others include Myotherdrive (with photoalbums) and Mydatabus - both offer 5gb free

for regular backups, Mozy has a free 2gb service as well as a paid unlimited backup; also Carbonite - both are easy to set up and run although the initial backup may take some time.

On-line is not a good idea for the reasons that you give, you could have a private flickr account or something like that but chances are that it would still be accessible by people, have you thought about a really big compact hard drive such as 2 or 3 hundred gigabytes that you would only put your most needed documents and photos on and then store somewhere updating it every so often maybe once every other month.

I would suggest bebo but you would have to make an account for it and people would be able to look at your pictures but theres a special feature you can choose where it makes your profile private and only your direct friends on bebo can look at your profile so i guess if you did that and dident accept any freind requests it would work but appart from that I'm sorry but I can't help

Store them in your e-mail box and they will be as safe as if you had put them in any bank vault.
