Heuristic analysis allows trapping new viruses based upon "virus-like" activity as opposed to mere matching to signatures of known viruses... This allows you protection from newer viruses before a signature is developed...

Yes you should.
if you don't that would turn AVG off and AVG won't be able to portect you.
It detects viruses which have similar signatures to other viruses. Its basically that screen asking you what to do when a virus is detected.
