I need to know a way to delete a program override which was planted in my computer.
I am looking for the file to delete, but cannot find it.
I've discovered t is also interferring with the desktop background. I cannot change them any longer.
It' not harmful, but very annoying.
Help appreciated.

I have PC tools registry mechanic and when I ran that, it said that I
had 17 problems. I repaired them. My computer was still acting up
so I tried "Errorkillers" . It said that the following problems were
found: 29 active x, OLE, COM
29 Add/remove programs
45 file associations
2 invalid shortcuts
1 startup item

I have bellsouth internet security and I started running a virus
scan last night. By this afternoon, it still wasn't finished
scanning. I couldn't let it finsh the scan, I needed the computer.

Is there anyway to fix these problems? The last time I took my
computer to someone for them to work on it they kept my computer and
gave me a replacement one (the one I use now). I don't have the
money to purchase anything, though. Is there a way that I could fix
them for free and was that a reliable site (errorkiller) ?

Thank you

I'm giving my computer to my parents as is and I don't trust them with computer security or what-not and I want to make sure all my sensitive document and, ahem... mature adult entertainment videos are gone gone gone. My parents aren't computer wizards but the kids that use their computer are and I don't want any chance of them stumbling upon any information about me or my interests or my old passwords file. What's the best way to take care of all this stuff without formatting the entire computer and re-installing the OS?

Is this possible on safari? I have snoopy younger siblings who are always trying to see what I'm doing online. Some stuff that is suitable for a 17 year old like myself is not suitable for a 6th grader. If anyone knows how to password protect a bookmark folder, please let me know, Thanks!

I'm so new to the world of Internet, but not to the world of psychiatry! Yahoo! tells me I can be vulnerable and ask what to do about these invasive "registrycleanerxp.com" assaults, and some woman is accusing me of BLAMING my ISP & BROWSER! I'M blaming "registrycleanerxp.com!" for being a pain in my behind! I tried to send them e-mails, politely, to leave me alone, please. Uh... I did get a good answer about "messenger svce.!" Yes, that's on there, too! Let me figure that one out! Who do I "report" this to? I could recommend a therapist to the woman who misread my question and thought I was "blaming" ComCast or Opera, if she's interested as to why she jumps to the defense of profit-hungry corporations instead of inexperienced individuals -- then we are in a world where it is easier to get along with machines than people for some. Many thanks, "Jibbajabar." Free tech. advice? God provides. I nearly fell out of my chair. At 51 I can still learn. Love & Light******

I was just looking at a real estate site on the internet. While looking at pictures of homes for sale a message popped up on my computer. The message was from microsoft and said asked if I wanted to do a sweep on my computer to clean out certain files. It stated that I had several adult themed files on my computer and that I should remove them. What bothered me is that the message stated that the images that were on my computer could "cause problems with your career and your marriage". This is what made me think it was not a true message from my computer but a pop up from this site. When the message appeared it was the same background color of my computer (I customized it so that my tool bar and such would be pink). I tried to do a search on my computer for any adult content but didn't find any. I do have McAfee security and virus protection and I also had my pop up blocker turned on. I personally know that I haven't viewed any adult content on my computer. Any ideas? Is this real?

I have an inkling that whatever I do on my system is constantly accessed by somebody else also. I've spybot search and destroy installed on my comuter, it does come upu with a couple of entries from downloaded stuff like pornography and all which show up as malware. But what I'm concerned with is somebody consistently viewing the contents of my system. How to be sure about it? and what is the remedy? Is the copy of the window being duplicate at the root of the problem. Please help.
