I have an inkling that whatever I do on my system is constantly accessed by somebody else also. I've spybot search and destroy installed on my comuter, it does come upu with a couple of entries from downloaded stuff like pornography and all which show up as malware. But what I'm concerned with is somebody consistently viewing the contents of my system. How to be sure about it? and what is the remedy? Is the copy of the window being duplicate at the root of the problem. Please help.

It sounds like you have visited a unscrupulos site thaat has dropped a KeyLogger on your computer.
This enables outside Hackers to follow your every keystroke.
It is absoulutly a must to have a good Virus Software.
Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasofts Adaware.

First of all, having a copy of windows does not make the likelihod of being hacked any higher... BUT, if you do not have a valid KEY for your copy of windows then it means you are not allowed to go to windows update and properly update your system with the latest security patches... which will absolutely make your system more likely to be hacked.

You can always call microsoft and purchase a key.

You should also have antivirus/firewall combo from a reliable vendor like McAfee... that is also automaticaly updating and properly configured.. You can go to most major vendor websites and perform a web based scan if you suspect your software is disabled or compromised.

If your system is allowing you to download malware in the first place then you probably do not have a good antivirus package installed and I highly suggest purchasing mcafee immediately.

You can rght click on the MY COMPUTER icon> Properties > Remote > and make sure remote assistance and remote desktop are UNCHECKED

Check the add/remove programs in the control panel to see if any third party connection software is installed such as PC Anywhere, GoTo My PC, VNC, etc..

Go into the msconfig applet and make sure there are no strange programs starting up when you boot windows.. to do this Start > Run > type msconfig > hit enter > Startup tab > uncheck the suspicious program but be careful not to unceck needed programs like your antivirus which could have several entries.
