I just noticed I have pictures on my computer that I downloaded from my phone then deleted ages ago. How do I get rid of these. I only noticed them while messing about on my computer. How do I stop my computer from storing these temporary files. I know how to get rid of the temporary internet files but not these. Please help.......

Thanks in advance :)

You might prefer Ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com but that isnt the only thing you need to do, open disk cleanup located at start>programs>acsessories>system tools. Once done loading, click the "more options" tab and clean up system restore. You will probably get rid of 1-2 Gigabytes of junk files. Hope ya liky.

I use PGP (pretty good privacy) which has a secure wipe /shredder so when I delete a file it does not go to the recycle bin it is automatically secure wiped with zero's and can never be recovered.

Check to make sure that the files are not locked by administrative privileges. Sometimes it will look like you're erasing then amd they will reappear if you don't have the proper rights.

Also, make sure that you do not have any recovery software turned on that may be backing up the files (if you really want them gone forever).

I would need to know more about where the files are to speculate any further on why they are not deleting... most likely you oly thought you deleted them and they were stored in more than one place.

I would also do a search of your entire harddrive to ensure they are not stored in more than one place.

If you are still having trouble deleting them you can try to delete them in safemode.

Any other problems deleting them would lead me to believe you had a virus but its unlikely.

Click Control Panel and select Internet Options. Under the General Tab, you will find where it reads, Temporary Internet Files. Just click Delete Files.

You should be able to delete these the same way as any other files.

There is no real way of preventing Windows from creating temporary files a good utility program such as Fix It Utilities or Norton Utilities can help clean these out at regular intervals.

? Probably is what I saw someone say is that you still have them in your system restore and it keeps them. If that's the case all you have to do is stop your system restore and it will delete them. Oh yeah and I love ccleaner! I was told to do this by an Hewlett Packard Tech once...go to c prompt type cd\ then press enter....then type
del *. temp/s then press enter .....maybe that deletes all directories, because /s..............or you can go to...start > run (in the search button)> > %temp% then press enter ... it ll open the temp folder select all the files in the temperary folder and delete them.........and bye the way ....forensic girl has it going on!...pretty smart girl!....she probably has me beat. lol...I added her to my profile list.........lol
