Recently, I have been trying to increase wireless security, and one step was to turn SSID broadcast off. My laptop however, easily identifies my network as an ad-hoc connection. I can even use this icon to make an unsecured connection to the network without even entering in a WEP code! Is there a way to prevent ad-hoc connections my network? I know that I can prevent the laptop from connecting to ad-hoc networks in general, but what about other unidentified users?

i have an excel file which is password protected to open.
can any one tell me how to open it.
i hv tried all possible ways using s/w found on net or 3rd party tools.
can any one suggest any good s/w apart from AOPR,AOPB or any rixler s/w which can break the password or recover it in few minutes.
i hv excel 2003, is there a way to sort this problem out through going into the registry.
please help ASAP.

what is the bestspyware and adware remover available?my computer is infected with iesafetywraning.com,as well as "ibis toolbar"are these things real harmful?i was going to attempt to remove them manually but i have no idea what i am doing.

I remember seeing a joke email around that would 'crash' ones PC. the joke however, is that it was fake. The user would do whatever he could, thinking the PC has LITERALLY crashed with a virus, but it was all a fake. I want it, and I wana scare my girl with it (she just got a new laptop!!). There was also another that once opened would go on and on and you couldn;t close it for several minutes. Any ideas where i could find them?

My Dell came with Norton Anti-Virus and it expires on the 7th of this month. I need to know if I should repurchase Norton? McAfee? Any other's? I'm looking for a really good Anti-Virus that comes with other thing's like checking your computer for error's and such. Right now I also have (Tune Up Utilites 2007 which works great). I want something has everything all in one by one manufacturer that will not cost me to much money.

When someone hacks into your service, is there record of what they looked at or got into? If they look up x rated sites, is there record of that? We used to have unsecured and I suspect my neighbor was hacking.

i want to safe my pc cuz i have inficted by a virus makes my all applications dont work just when i press the app. icon a dos ( command prompt ) appears and dis-appears fast, i tried MzAfee and AntVir Personal edition. but they dont help.
