Theoretically - yes, but it will have to depend on a particular vulnerable MP3 playing program. See the first link below for a vulnerability in an old version of WinAmp that would allow code execution when a specially crafted MP3 file is played by it.

It would be easier to spread via other kinds of media files, though. For instance, recently a virus was released on MySpace - a virus which used a design flaw (not an unintentional bug) in QuickTime movies to spread - see the second link for more information.

Yep. im sorry to say, but anything that is connected or played into your computer that has a virus in it, is going to pass it right on into your computer. It might be wise to download an Anti-Virus softwear. I suggest AVG anti-virus softwear. worked for me!

Only if you don't pay attention to the file extension. If it ends with something like .exe or .sys then yes as these aren't music files they're programs. It should end with something like .mpeg or even .wav

if you play it on another PC it will infected it so don't do it
