They can potentially conflict with one another. I know that the new Norton firewall doesn't like Zone Alarm firewall. I would use the hardware firewall that may come with a router and the software firewall that comes with a program like Zone Alarm and turn off the Microsoft firewall.

If you are talking about your High-Speed connections Firewall as the firewall built into a DSL Router, then there is no problem. The Firewall built into a DSL Router is a Hardware Firewall and not a Software Firewall. The Windows Firewall will work just fine with the Hardware Firewall. If, for some reason, they do conflict, then stop using one of them. I recommend using the Hardware Firewall in the Router. Hardware Firewalls are the best Firewalls to use.

If you mean a hardware firewall/router, you can run them both together. You DO NOT want to run two software firewalls together. This can cause major problems on your computer:

no theres no danger having two fire walls i my self have two or three it helps to keep stuff out
