I posed that question 3 days ago and there were some ppl who had the same problem. I just wanted to say that I found out how they did it. By opening those websites, they send you tracking cookies, therefore other messages can be sent with your name. After a system recovery (I just put it back to the state of a day before), I was recommended a great free virusscan which can also find tracking cookies: "ad aware personel se". you can google for it, not all virusscans find tracking cookies, but this one found 14 on my computer. You never know of course, I'm no computer expert, but I think that now, the problem is settled.

I cannot email to a concrete domain because of that. I've never done unappropiate use of the dynamic IPs i receive.
But the company that provides them to me says that this is not his responsability.

Explorer shuts down and I have to start up IE again to search. Is there a way out of this? I have checked my computer for viruses etc. nothing!

Which measures can i take in order to keep people from doing that? Is it an actual risk or just a remote possibility?
I mean the person has to know me, my Id, something about my computer, or they could just randomly chose a computer to invade?

I've had Norton Internet Security for a year and a half now. During that time, I've had a total of about five warnings of attacks on my computer being blocked. Now, suddenly with less than 30 days left to renew it, I've had four or five popups alerting me to blocked attacks. What is Norton trying to do, scare me into renewing?

a while back i was on the internet when my cd drive popped open. it was a laptop where the cd drive was on the side, so i assumed i had accidentally hit it with my hand. then i recieved a pop-up saying "If your CD Drive just opened, you have spyware! Purchase our anti-spyware program for $29.99!" of course i figured that the salesmen were also the perps, and did not purchase the spyware protection but disconnected and ran a full system scan with Norton.

my question is, just how bad was my security compromised, and should i be worried about any lasting consequences?
