I read that if your computer is already infected, antivirus software in your own comp might be bypassed already and will miss it, so you have to scan from another computer.

Something seems to be hijacking Internet Explorer. For instance, trying to go to IMDB redirects to a casino website and all of the search results on Yahoo and Google redirect to other, lesser search engines.

I've scanned with Webroot Spy Sweeper and McAfee VirusScan and neither of them are turning up anything.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can figure out what's going on and/or deal with it?

Thanks!

This popcorn.net thing keeps coming up when my husband turns on the computer. IT says that our free trial has ended and we need to buy the software (we didn't download anything). He clicks' cancel and it opens up a web browser for popcorn.net--and says that we had the chance to decline during our free membership (which we never signed up for). The only way to decline now is to buy a 30 day membership and then cancel during it--our only other option is to buy a year long membership. Spybot and AdAware are not picking this up...how can I get it 'gone'?

Yesterday I had posted a question about how to get the annoying blinking things of the bottom right of my computer. After I did a full scan of my computer and it removed the Trojan Spyware or whatever it was, my Internet Explorer window keeps popping up with advertisements to porn sites and online casinos. I don't even use internet explorers browser, I use AOL's!! Can someone help me figure out how to stop them? Should I just take Internet explorer of my computer or do I need it on there? Please help!!

Hi, I have read the link below. It mentions "hasn't detected a single piece of spyware targeted at Macs or Linux machines"
I am not sure how true is this statement now.

I run my anti-virus program and it warns me about this "Contains signature of the dropper DR/Agent.se.4.D". Though the report says that my drive has no virus, this warning worries maybe it could harm or damage my PC & programming in the future. Anyone knows this matter, please help.

I'm using a Cisco VPN client provided by my school which I connect to after I connect to a public network. Does this give me more security and can I send things over the internet without worrying about wardrivers and hackers?
