Ad-Aware is a great product but it is not an 'Anti-Virus'. It will locate and remove Ad ware but it does not claim to nor does it remove a virus. You need to get an Anti Virus program for your computer also.

Ad-aware and Norton do two different things.
Norton cleans virus, which are self reproducing programs that travel from computer to computer by infected files or a network connection (worm).
Ad-aware cleans spyware/adware, which are unwanted programs downloaded from the internet.
You need to run both as they fix different problems.

I frequently have both Spybot & ad-conscious on my equipment, on account that each and every application will frequently come upon some secret agent ware that the different one gained't. notwithstanding, Spybot DOES have an lively chance-free practices approach which suits to end you from getting contaminated, even as ad-conscious does no longer (a minimum of no longer in the perfect version I used). We use Spysweeper at artwork which plenty into memory to actively safeguard your equipment.

Ad Aware is only an anti-spyware tool. It is not designed for antivirus purposes.
Norton is a resource hog. For free, effective, and good antivirus (for home use) try AVG (free.grisoft.com) or Avast (avast.com)

i think that particular product is pretty good but no one particular product can get them all. and it's not really for "viruses" so to speak, so you still need some anti virus software too.
