None, software firewalls are a hassle and are easily hacked. AVG antivirus works great and if your running XPsp2, make sure that windows firewall is on.
Zonealarm is not for a novice, Mcafee is terriable, and you better off installing viruses on your computer than Norton Internet Security, all of these security packages are C.R.A.P.
The best firwall is a hardware (router/firewall) that sits between your computer and the interent.

Zone Alarm free edition is a really good firewall.

If you're looking for freeware, you can get AVG, avast, or NOD32 antivirus. All of these work great. For a firewall, go for Zone Alarm. While you're at it, pick up Spybot and Ad-Aware to take care of spyware and adware.

here are some free firewalls they also have antivirus but they are not free AVG free edition is good antivirus I run it.

Also Microsoft Defender from microsoft.com to protect against spyware.

(Yes, you need all three. they all protect against different problems)
