This popcorn.net thing keeps coming up when my husband turns on the computer. IT says that our free trial has ended and we need to buy the software (we didn't download anything). He clicks' cancel and it opens up a web browser for popcorn.net--and says that we had the chance to decline during our free membership (which we never signed up for). The only way to decline now is to buy a 30 day membership and then cancel during it--our only other option is to buy a year long membership. Spybot and AdAware are not picking this up...how can I get it 'gone'?

Yes popcorn.net is a MASSIVE spyware issue, and you are not the first person to bring it up on these boards. Download Spycatcher and ewido anti-spyware, and run both of their scans. One of them (if not both) will pick it up, and allow you to neutrilize that nasty popcorn kernal once and for all.

Have you gone to adaware website(lavasoft.com) yet? When a new problem is spotted they often have rescue info along the right side of page.
