You have to be more careful of the files you downlaod aas many .zip or .rar files or .exe files my contain a virus. Therefore make sure you sue a good Anti-Virus program like AVGFree.com or better still ActiveVirusShield.com

As far as downloading music and videos, you may be infringing on copyright laws. This isn't an issue if your downloading music and videos in the open market (like old classical music).
Yes you could be traced as your connecting over an open network.

I used to apply Limewire, for my Mac, yet after a lengthy time period I were given a clean Mac, yet the newest Limewire wasn't like minded, and the older ones were lengthy previous. I used Frostwire. it truly is an analogous proper aspect, merely no longer a lime. once you've a Mac, I wager you should use, because Macs do not get viruses (supposedly.) My bros downloaded about 2,000 songs, per chance 3,000 (i have not checked for a lengthy time period) songs, and his workstation is going solid with out viruses. once you've a workstation, your taking your opportunities. in case you do not get an epidemic, you get as many songs as you decide on. in case you do, then you extremely lose all of your songs and memory. you decide on.

Just scan everything you download with your anti-virus and your anti-spyware. Remember that you will not be downloading from Limewire, you will be downloading from other peoples (strangers) computers.

Limewire shows up on many security programs as spyware/malware. I would look elsewhere for P2P.
