When I had Windows 2000 Server, I never had this problem. Four months ago I switched to Windows XP Prof., an I have purchased four new mouses.

Found the expensive ones the pointer will freeze for some unknown reason an I have to reboot.

Appears the cheaper the digital mouse the fewer problems I have. (I don't use any mouse with a ball on the bottom).

Reboot the computer

If the pointer is still not moving, check that the mouse is plugged in

Try a different mouse

I usually have to reboot windows when that happens. The program is locked up. Sometimes just x out of what you are doing. but if all else fails reboot works. Have a good one:-)

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for that.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Use a MAC -- sorry couldn;t resist that comment ;)

You may need to replace your mouse - first try cleaning the mouse pad and ball if it has one. If that doesn't work it may be time to replace.
