I just bought a new dell computer and when I tried to reinstall my adapter from my old computer it wont work. The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. I can install the stuff from the resource CD, and I get a screen that says "It is now safe to plug in adapter". But when I plug in my adapter I suddenly get this blue screen and have to restart my computer. Anyone know how to fix this? Is there some sort of patch I need to download, and if so from where?

Thanks!

I know how to delete the internet history but how do you remove ALL traces of porn from your computer? Does WMP and other players keep track of everything it plays? If so, how do you delete its history?

and please... no comments about the porn. i have a feeling someones going say something. I'm just trying to keep my computer safe for my whole family.

I have been receiving emails on my charter account, usually by someone with a ____@cbonet.com
I dont know who they are, but I've dug through, and they're all about some sort of watch, but at the bottom, there's stuff like
"pickpocket if I had remained in the public service a year or two. no stove-pipe hats nor patent-leather boots, nor anything else necessary

bodily pain. The Indians robbed the coach of everything it contained, it was not very prepossessing. We did not tarry long to observe it, but"

It doesnt make any sense.
And the emails dont make any sense, but when I go to send a reply asking to be taken off their mailing list, it says there is no such email adress!!
And There is no writing on the bottom to be taken off the mailing list either. But the email adress changes everytime, and the "Subject" is usually a random word, or phrase, the "To" box is never to me, it's always to another random adress!!

I am really new to this, but I found 79 hidden spuninst folders in my C:\WINDOWS. They are
$hf_mig$
$MSI31Uninstall_KB893803v2$
$NtUninstallKB873339$
$NtUninstallKB885836$
$NtUninstallKB886185$
$NtUninstallKB887472$
$NtUninstallKB888302$
$NtUninstallKB890859$
$NtUninstallKB891781$
and a lot more. 79 files to be exact. Should I delete these? However, I'm afraid to do so, coz I'm not sure of they are useful or what. I really dont know. SO.. HELP!

I used to send pictures through hotmail until they changed it to where i can only send 1 file at a time, but if i attached more files, it would take a little while to send them.

I have used yahoo and i would send 5 pictures at a time and it takes forever!!

I am sending pictures of my baby to my family, and i send a bunch at one time, it just takes too long.

Is there a faster way to send pictures, please let me know!! Thanks!

I got into a bad hosting situation through a stupid barter network. After a year, I wanted to switch the site over to my current host, where I still have free space. I changed the DNS servers but host #! insists there is a secret word that the barter host has to give him. The barter host claims he never heard of having to give a secret word. He has already done some other shenanigans so I don't trust him. Is there such a thing as a secret word in order to switch domain hosts?

Hi, I have a desktop I use at home, and a laptop, I was wondering if there is anyway to set it up so whatever emails that are on my desktop and are also on my laptop and vice versa, I don't know what this is called but hope you know what I mean? I'm sure others will have needed to do the same?

Just like to say the email address I use is an @ntlworld.com one, but if that is a problem I can change...

Again I need the same emails, inbox, outbox, sent items etc.. on both computers.

Thankyou.

I'm in DOS for Windows Xp recovery. I'm trying to access the C: drive folder but I can't. When the recovery console starts, it starts in C:\WINDOWS\

From what I know, all you have to do is type "Cd.." to get to the C: folder but it doesn't work. It keeps saying that "The command is not recognized...type HELP". Is there another way?

I'm trying to copy files from the Windows CD to the C: drive. The files are "ntldr" and "ntdetect.com". System won't boot without these files.

Thanks

My HP computer is 5 years old. I have not had problem yet, but started thinking that if I have to replace hard drive I checked info on computer and it has a partition on computer for recovery, (no recovery cd included) . Later models have an option to make a set of recovery cd's but not mine. If hard drive goes out , how do you access the recovery?
I think it might have something to do with D drive by what I read but I don't know how that works. I thought everything was on one hard drive. I not that up on computer lingo. Any input would be appreciated. My computer is a desktop with XP Home Edition.
