It could be that you are mistakenly clicking on "restart" rather than "shutdown" but if not, it sounds like you may have picked up a virus. Are you running anti-virus software like Norton on McAfee? If so have you updated it recently? Either update it and let it scan your system or install that type of software. Once I got a virus when I didn't have Norton and I first had to reformat my hard drive before I could install the anti-virus software. I hope you don't have to go that route. Good luck!

When you shut down a box open first for options. Be sure you have Shut Down checked and not Restart. This all I know.

no the LAN has nothing to do with this. go to control panel/power options/ when the box comes up click advanced at the bottom of the page is 2 boxes make sure both say shutdown.

You have a virus. I had this on my last PC. The LAN has nothing to do with it. Do a virus sweep and clean (or have) your hard drive & you'll be fine.

I can't believe that when you were typing this question, that Yahoo! Answers didn't suggest some previously answered questions that were the same. Do a search here on Answers. That question was probably asked 10 times in the past week.

i dont think your LAN connection affects it, most likley youve got sum viruses on your computer. Goggle and download "Ad Adware SE Personal" and "Spyboy- search and destroy". they are both free.

NOD32 is probaby the best antivirus, but it cost quite alot. Buy un can get it from http://rapidshare.com/files/24951968/Eset.NOD32.AntiVirus.v2.70.16.WinXP.Final-nsane.rar.html.

Just click free, and download it. "Requires WINRAR to open the folder, google it if you dont have it)

Virus ftw.

Scan your computer with a virus checker, and then ruin its puny pathetic miserable digital pixable life. Have fun!
