i used to be able to but suddenly whenever i try to click on a timetable or something thats a pdf file a white screen just comes up, why is this and how can i solve it so i can read pdf files again.please help!thanks!

i had it formatted and reinstalled windows.but it is still giving me trouble like:
1.if an error shows up,i press ctrl+alt+del but the window doesnt appear
2.i tried to copy some music,kits and other things because i need min 5 gb to enter my network .the problem is that the computer restarts itself if i give it a big amount of files to copy.
3.sometimes the pointer just stops and everything is motionless so i have to restart it
any ideas what is going on?

I am having a problem. Whenever I start my computer(Windows XP) the first thing that happens is Windows Explorer says it has to close. Once in a while a box appears and says DrWatson must close. What the heck is going on? This didn't happen until I downloaded an update to ZoneAlarm Security.

I must also state that I had to turn off the Data Execution Prevention settings because they would just be going off.

Is this a quick fix?

Just got a new computer with Vista Premium. I like to have shortcuts to my fave websites on the desktop. For example, I sent a shortcut to Yahoo to the desk top but when I go to click it I get this message: http://www.yahoo.com- application not found."
This happens with any page I try to make a shortcut with. Any fixes for this? Oh yeah, it's with IE&. Not sure if Firefox is Vista-friendly yet.

I have the WinTV program it's like tv but on the computer but there's NO SOUND!! the sound works on all the other programs just not the WinTV? anyone else with this problem? HOW DO U FIX IT!?

My laptop wasn't working: I just turned it one once and everything you clicked, internet, my pictures, everything wouldn't come up. The next morning my mother used recovery (F11) and went through the whole computer set up. She does not know a thing about computers and did not know what she was doing. After doing that we both releazied all of our files had been lost: Tons of family pictures, important files, saved emails, everything. It would be devestating to be unable to recover these files. Please tell me if there is a way to recover this or even if I would be able to take it to a computer shop and they would be able to recover the files. This is very important; yes I know we are idiots for doing recovery but I need to know how to fix it! Thank you

i want to burn a dvd of some .mov and .wmv files, but i dont know how to do it and make it play in my dvd player. do i need to convert the files? any help would be appreciated.

I've just downloaded a large video file and its in several different sections called 'rar' files. I usually avoid these type of downloads as i have no idea what to do with them. i usually only deal with AVI's etc wich can be viewed straight away.
I really want this video file though and it's the only way to get it.
So what do i do now? Do i need a special reader or convertor?
Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanx.

my internet connection fails after one hour connected?

hi

this is my question:

when I connect to internet,everyting goes right and works fine,but after one hour +/-(sometimes work only for 30 minutes or less) of connection,it stops working,then I disconnect from the power cable and connect again,and the internet starts working fine again for one more hour ,until it comes down one mor time.

I already verified all the configurations,and they are fine,like the internet server recommends.

I´m using windows XP home edition pack 2,but I´m also using a windows vista tranformation pack,for XP.

I use a aolynk DR814 router,for a 24Mb internet connection.

I suspect from a file or a program that blocks the internet connection,and i´m saying this,because some time ago I had the same problem,and I discovered one process in windows task manager it blocked the connection

help please.
