The Video I have is from a friend sent to me from AIM FILE TRANSFER. I now have it in my desktop its 10 minutes Long. I wish to cut it, But i dont know how. I have Windows Movie Maker but Everytime i drag the Vid from desktop This Thing pops out:"The file C:\Documents and Settings\EricMcKellan\Desktop\Movie_0003.wmv cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again." I Have no idea what that means. I don't even know what a codec is. I'm just a 13 year old kid. If u guys know how to cut please tell me step by step, like 1)click that 2)click there. Just Like That. I am having a problem signing on as administrator.. I basically forgot the name of the administrator.. what should I do? I don't have a CD or anything of the Windows. I can't install any programs without signing on as the administrator.

my son is 15 years old and has aspergers syndrome.(which for him, the biggest problem is social awkwardness) he is obsessed by computers and has been since he was about 4. he is now a sophomore in high school and we are discussing with him career ideas and options for schooling.i asked him what he loves most about computers and he said he likes to create. he said he would be most interested in game designing or web design. he is incredibly creative and artistic.( i am an artist as well)
the question i have is, knowing that he is not very social, but is very creative and computer savvy, which would be a good avenue for him to steer toward in the computer world as a career? what kind of schooling would be required? what are the job prospects for that field?

Every time I log into my user account on Windows XP I am confronted with the message, "Drive X: is almost full, please delete any unnecessary files." This happens to be presented withing a speech bubble originating from the system tray. The drive the message is in regards to is my personal media drive, which my intention is to keep full until I desire to remove videos I no longer wish to see. I want this message to stop for this particular hard drive, however not for my C: drive, as it's important I keep a generous chunk of free space left free on it at all times, for the sake of a smooth system : )

Please help.

my friend has asked my opinion of some images a photographer snapped of her, but they're all TIFFs & not opening however this Mac @ my workplace is configured... I don't recall ever working w/ that format before - I only know how to fiddle with JPGs & BMPs - can somebody tell me how to configure whichever program, or the workstation itself, so these images may display?

when ever i overclock my computer i just go to the bios and change to fsb right i dont have to bipass passwords or change anything hard just change the bios fsb cuz my motherboard will only let me go to 200mhz fsb but i think the Abit AB9 lets u go to 400mhz

every now and then audio clips start playing on my computer. but all my programs are closed and my internet explore is not open. i eventually have to either log off or restart in order to stop the clips from playing. can anyone tell me what i can do?

My computer after a few hours goes weird and many of the isons go from next to the clock the clock dissappears and the start menu text dissapers, task manager wont open properly, nothing saves and says disk is full (when its not), wont open other hard drives and says I have no printers installed when I do.
Ive been having this problem everyday now and its really really annoying me.
What is it and how do I fix it?

Someone I've known on chat for years asked me if I knew anything about POP3?And I said no.When I went looking around for what it stood for.I think I understand it as:POP3 is used for deleting messages that I've typed on the computer...But,now I've forgotten how to get into this page,what to type in to ask the right question(s),and how to go about making more space on my computer,WITHOUT,deleting files or cleaning discs or condensing/making room on a disc.Can anyone help me understand POP3 better and where i can go??
