Ok here is what you do...go to windows media player(not movie maker) and play the clip. If it does not play there would be an X or and ! to show you there is an error. Clicl that and press web help. Then you must follow the stuff on the web pages to download this codec. With this codec you will be allowed to play this video. After that you must cut it in anyway u want in windows movie maker. Simple as that. If you have any question you can message me.

AVIcodec is a program that will analyze the video file and tell you which codecs are needed, and which ones you are missing. THEN, it will give you the link to the site where the codec is located, if you are in fact missing that particular one (click “web” button).

This come from Microsoft:
“Although you can play a file in Microsoft Windows Media Player, you may not be able to import the file into Windows Movie Maker even though this article lists that kind of file. You may not be able to import the file if the codec that was used to encode the audio or video is not a codec that is included with Windows XP. In that case, you may be able to re-encode the video or audio by using Windows Media Encoder, and then import the video or audio. "

Ok, first of all, you need to know what kind of video file it is. The program is telling you that it does not recognize the format. I recommend going to File>Import Into Collections to make sure it really does not work. I have never dragged a file into Movie Maker. Hopefully this helps. Unless the file has a wierd file extension, Movie Maker should be able to open it this way.

i think of you could replace yet another converter, RZ Video Converter can convert any movies or audios between diverse codecs without time shrink, yet there is the watermark, rigister version without watermark. you're able to have a attempt, Yahoo or google seek and get carry of it, wish that is going to help.
