Hi there,
First, go into the control pannel, click on user accounts or manage users or something like that, then, choose the account or create your own, if you create your own, which I recommend, follow the steps in the wizzard, and when it gets to the spot to create your password, type it in, and don't forget it!
Then finish up the instructions which are prezented, then press OK, then reboot if asked and you are set to go, a windows log-on screen will appear and select the username which you created while in the step-by-step wizzard, then the password - type it in in the password box and press enter, you re all set! Whala! Your desktop and all of your settings are there without anyone else going on your computer!

Yes, go to Control Panel, User Accounts, click Change the way users log on or off, and then create a password for your account, and disable the guest account. Make sure your password is not something easy to guess.

Most computers allow creating a BIOS password. Without a password your DVD/CD or floppy drives can not be used to boot the computer or reinstall Windows, bypassing all your Windows passwords. It also prevents the hard drives from being used, preventing entering Windows “safe mode” which can be used to modify your passwords.
The bios password can often be defeated.
Add a password to the BIOS.
