Someone told me that it was a glitch in the system and thats what info I've been passing on. But mine and many others have not come back up. Is it still a glitch or has YA changed the requirements?

The badges are dynamic, to quote the A-Team "Top Contributors are not permanent, which is to say you must continue to be an active answerer in order to retain a Top Contributor badge. Similarly, even if you are not a Top Contributor today, you can earn the badge by contributing high quality answers in any category or multiple categories of your choosing." You can read all about the badges here -

Also keep in mind it's also a brand new feature and they are still working out the exact formula to recognize quality over quantity, so there may be a few glitches here and there.

Sorry, I don't know. Someone mentioned that it might have something to do with the percentage of Best Answers received. Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with that. Klute200 has 17% best answers and does not have the orange badge. I've seen others at higher levels then Klute200, but at 10% or more best answers without the badge. It doesn't seem feasible to award the badge for percentage of best answers because if you answer a lot of questions, you will dilute your percentage down (your not going to get Best Answer every time you answer a question - let's be reasonable). If people are going to be penalized for answering a lot of question, then they will be reluctant to answer and YAHOO surely doesn't want that.

The rumor is that they now require 10% best answers for the badge.
