Always remember,
life of computer is proportional to ventilation or cooling provided..
U may notice two or three or even more no of total fans.
Firstly, the main is processor fan, which u may notice on the mother board, inside the cabinet, which is not tend to be stopped in any circumstances,or else is would wear out ur processor.. And u would have to get new processor, and its compatible mother board.. Whole lot of problems! If u notice it not workin properly, immediately replace it..
Secondly,u may notice even a fan on the graphics card,it is too inside the cabinet.. It also works in its own way, according to usage..
And there are also fan(s) on the cabinet,on the inner side of the cover, which are meant for ventilation.. They increase the life of the internal integrated circuits..
Sorry,i didn understand ur second prob!!

You need the cooling fan to continue running or the components inside will over heat, especially the CPU (brain) of the computer. If that goes, you are looking at a lot of money to repair, and in some cases might have to get a new system.

If the fan is running - there is a reason ... there must be several programs (or something running) ... and putting demand on the processor ... making it hot.
Sorry, not reall an answer - but computers need to be cool ... heat kills :-/

You will have to buy a new computer if you turn off the cooling fan. The cooling fan cools the processing chip that's in your computer. The processing chip is the computer's brain. The chip will overheat and burn out if you turn off the cooling fan.

The cooling fan prevents your computer from damage caused by over heating. Why would you want to turn it off?
It's supposed to run as long as your computer is running.

More and more people are saying that people should have to pass a test and become licensed before they are allowed to put a computer on the public internet.
I am starting to agree with them!
