I am having a problem. Whenever I start my computer(Windows XP) the first thing that happens is Windows Explorer says it has to close. Once in a while a box appears and says DrWatson must close. What the heck is going on? This didn't happen until I downloaded an update to ZoneAlarm Security.

I must also state that I had to turn off the Data Execution Prevention settings because they would just be going off.

Is this a quick fix?

I had a problem like this with another program. After I installed it, explorer would crash, then data execution prevention, then computer crashed. I fixed it by using System Restore and restoring back to an earlier date. (After the error occurred, I went straight to System Restore without clicking anything else).

Boot your computer in safe mode (F8 before windows loading screen appears), and use system restore to before you made the update.

If this doesn't work, go in safe mode and delete Zone Alarm or what have you.

Maybe virii scan and spy scan while you are in there.

If you cant even get in safe mode, you might have to hook your drive up as a slave, copy the stuff you want to keep and then format and redo the OS. Make sure you have all your drivers tho.

I can't help you with your PC, but when you get tired of this, as I did, buy a Mac. I've had mine for 2 years and it has never crashed. And I don't have all the other problems, either. Good luck.
